Baby Bump Diary: Week 25
What's Up With Little B
- Baby is about 36cm/15" long from head to foot and weighs 2+ pounds
- Little B's eyes are starting to open
- Little B should be responding to sounds now, and (s)he sure does. Little B loves big noisy family get togethers!
- His/her lungs are being put to good use by inhaling and exhaling the amniotic fluid
Over the last week I have been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. I was a little concerned because at one point during the week they were every half hour to an hour. I called the doctor, and yes this is normal and she explained what Braxton Hicks were. I realized I've had these throughout my pregnancy, I just thought they were the baby pressing really hard on my uterus.
Braxton Hicks - What Is This?
Braxton Hicks contractions are your body's way to prepare your uterus for labor. They feel like your abdomen (uterus) is tightening and loosening. Most women start to feel them midway through their pregnancies, but they do occur throughout your entire pregnancy.
Braxton Hicks are not painful, they can be a little uncomfortable though.
If you start to experience them more than 4 times in an hour and you are not yet 37 weeks along, play it safe and give your doctor a call.
I've been feeling really great again this past week. Who knew pregnancy was so easy, lol! I am so fortunate to be having what seems to be a great pregnancy thus far.
I still don't really have any weird cravings. I am wanting more sweet foods than I would if I wasn't pregnant, but for the most part I satisfy those desires with fruit. The citrus fruits this year have been delicious, they must have really good weather in the southern states.
Preparing For Baby
I've started the great house clean-up this week. I cleared space in baby's closet. Now I need to find space for all the stuff I took out of that closet. I think it may be time for a yard sale.
I've also started reading some birthing books and will post my reviews of these books when I've finished them.
I want to apologize for posting my diary a little late this week. I've been preparing for my easter weekend trip to the great white north of Canada to visit my sister and her family.
Have a wonderful easter weekend everyone!
